Brand and Values

The soul behind Melíp's ideas and creations

Who are you

My name is Melissa,
I'm a fashion designer and founder of Melíp, a brand of handmade leather bags established in 2019 near Venice.
I transformed my passion for leather goods into a project that combines functionality, beauty, and durability.

The heart of Melíp is encapsulated in a guiding concept:
Soft Rigor
a continuous balance between structure and softness, precision and comfort, formal rigor and human warmth.
This philosophy is translated into every bag I create: objects designed to last over time, adapt to every situation
and accompany those who choose them every day.

Riguardo

The Brand

Melíp was born from the encounter between Venetian artisanal tradition and contemporary, essential design.
Each Italian leather bag is made entirely by hand in Veneto, in the heart of the leather district, collaborating with artisan workshops where craftsmanship has been passed down through generations.

Our production follows a short and controlled supply chain: from conception to final realization, every step takes place within a few kilometers. This allows us to guarantee quality, traceability, and a direct relationship with those who work on our bags.
Our production respects authentic artisanal rhythms: no rush, just care, precision, and dedication.

Designing with purpose, creating with care

Philosophy & Methodology

Our process is based on research, care, and quality:

LWG certified leathers: We exclusively use European LWG certified leathers (Leather Working Group), the most rigorous international standard for sustainability in tanning. Processed and inspected in Italy, 100% traceable and tested for durability and environmental friendliness.

Structure and lightness: Calibrated thicknesses and reinforcements to ensure strength while maintaining comfort and lightness.

Balanced proportions: Shapes inspired by architectural geometry, softened by curves and details that evoke femininity.

Hardware: Used only when necessary, to preserve the purity of the design.
